4 on the 4th

Our niece, Violet, turned 4 on the 4th of July.
Her 4th birthday was filled with good things and many memories.
Of course, the celebration (which lasted 2 days) was a bit hard for her (almost 3 yo) brother, Sawyer, who thought Violet should share all her brand new toys at once.
Violet was very generous, and did share her new toys with her brother... some willingly (see toy hamster in Sawyer's hand) and some quite by accident (see new doll in Weston's mouth!).
Being the sibling of the birthday person is never easy, is it?

Weston was just as happy with the discarded boxes and forgotten balloon bouquet as he was with the new treasures.
All in all, the birthday was a fantastic success.
The fireworks, though a bit too loud for little ones to enjoy up close, were fun to watch from afar.

We were spoiled with smokey kebabs, corn on the cob, and fresh baked bread, not to mention 3 types of desserts from which to choose.
What a great way to celebrate the 4th on the 4th!
